What is a pop up traffic cone, and how is it different from a regular cone?

A pop up cone is a collapsible cone, a waterproof orange fabric body over a spring frame that folds flat to a couple of inches and pops back up in seconds. A standard cone is one solid piece of molded PVC that always holds its shape. The tradeoff is storage and speed: pop up cones ride flat in a trunk or under a truck seat, and most here add a built in LED light and a weighted, grippy base so they stand up to wind the moment they hit the ground. They are built for people who work out of a vehicle and cannot haul a stack of rigid cones.

Which pop up cone is best for wind or heavy duty use?

Look at the 30 inch collapsible pop up with the solid rubber base and four LED lights. The heavier rubber base keeps it planted when a truck rolls past or a gust hits, and four built in LEDs give it more nighttime punch than the usual single light, which is why fire, police, and industrial crews favor it. It comes as a single or as a 5 pack in its own carrying case. If you want the tallest option instead, the 36 inch reflective pop up reaches full highway height.

Do pop up cones come with a light, and can I replace it?

Most do. The LED runs steady or flashing, and the cones come in lit and unlit versions, so the 28 inch, for example, is sold both with a light and in a no light model. Some ship with batteries in the box and some need them added, so check the pack before you head out. And if a light ever quits, you do not toss the cone, the LED module is sold on its own as a replacement, so you swap it and keep going.

What cones and cone accessories are available?

Cones in every size from 2 inch training cones to 36 inch highway cones, in standard orange and many other colors, plus the gear that goes with them: reflective collars, cone bars, chain and connectors, lights, weights, signs, carts and truck mount holders.

Why are traffic cones orange?

Fluorescent orange is the color drivers read as a warning, and it stands out against pavement, greenery and sky in daylight. The MUTCD calls for orange as the main color of cones used on public roads, which is why orange is the standard, while other colors are used for private property, events and sports.

30" Collapsible Orange Pop Up Cone w/Heavy Duty Black Rubber Base & 4 LED Lights (Pack of 5) - 03-501-05

This 5 pack of heavy duty 30" pop up cones gives you the height and stability of standard cones, and each one folds flat for storage. The solid black rubber bases keep the cones planted when trucks pass or the wind picks up. Each cone has four built-in LED lights, which make it far more visible at night than a single-light pop up cone. Pull a cone up and it's ready in seconds. Push it down and it packs away in a vehicle compartment, trunk, or storage shelf.

The LED lights in each cone run in steady or flashing mode on 2 AAA batteries, which are included. They last up to 300 hours flashing or 120 hours steady. The bright orange waterproof nylon bodies hold up in all kinds of weather, and two reflective collars on each cone add visibility day and night. The cones meet MUTCD standards.

Great for: emergency vehicles, police cars, fire trucks, first responders, roadside assistance, tow trucks, fleet and service vehicles, utility crews, parking lots, valet lines, events, and nighttime work areas.
