What is a plastic stanchion post?

It is a lightweight plastic post, usually around 40 inches tall on a weighted base, that you set out and run plastic chain between to form a barrier or a line. It is the budget friendly, weatherproof cousin of the metal rope stanchion, built for outdoor lots, work sites, and events where a nicer post would get beat up or walk off. Plastic will not rust, wipes clean, and comes in a big range of colors so it can warn, match, or color code.

What is the difference between light, medium, and heavy duty?

It comes down to the base weight and the wall thickness, which really means how it handles wind and abuse. Light duty is fine indoors and for calm outdoor spots. Medium duty is the everyday pick for most parking and event use. Heavy duty has the beefiest base to stand up to wind, busy foot traffic, and the occasional bump without tipping. If your posts live outside or in a high traffic area, size up so you are not chasing tipped posts all day.

Can I buy the posts and chain together?

Yes, the post and chain kits are the easy way to start. They pair a set of posts with a matching run of plastic chain so you get a complete barrier in one order, like 4 posts with 32 feet of chain for a small job or 10 posts with 100 feet for a bigger one. The posts also sell on their own in packs of 2, 4, and 6 if you just need to add to a setup or bring your own chain. Pick a kit to start fresh, or posts alone to expand.

What crowd control equipment is available?

Gear for guiding people through lines, entrances and events: retractable belt stanchions, rope and plastic chain stanchions, magnet ring kits, crowd control barricades, floor sign stands, PowerFlares and other accessories.

Belt, rope or chain, which should I use?

Retractable belt stanchions suit indoor queues at banks, airports and offices. Velvet rope on metal posts suits upscale entrances and events. Plastic chain on plastic posts is the economical, weatherproof choice for outdoor lots and work areas.
