JBC Traffic Cone Durability: 25,000 lb Roller Test

A 25,000 lb roller vs. one traffic cone

Most cones never face anything worse than a bump from a car. This one gets parked under a 25,000 lb compaction roller, on purpose. In under 90 seconds you watch a JBC injection molded PVC cone get flattened by more than 12 tons of steel, then pop back to its original shape and stand upright again.

That recovery is the whole point. Job site cones get run over, kicked, dragged, and stacked wet. Cheaper PE cones crack or stay crushed after this kind of hit, which means replacing them mid-project. Injection molded PVC flexes under load and returns to shape, so one cone keeps working season after season.

What to look for in the video

  • The full weight of the roller passes directly over the cone body, not just the base.
  • The cone rebounds within seconds, with no cracking or whitening at the stress points.
  • The base stays flat afterward, so the cone still sits stable on pavement.
