What are aviation light wands used for?

They are the wands a ground crew uses to guide, or marshal, an aircraft into and out of its spot and to signal vehicles moving around the ramp. The lit ones glow bright enough for a pilot to read the hand signals from the cockpit in the dark or in rough weather, and crews also grab them for parking, taxi guidance, and directing traffic at events. Think of one as a flashlight built for talking to an airplane.

What is the difference between the light wands and the day wands?

It comes down to light. The lighted Dura-Wands have an LED inside and are the pick for night, early mornings, and low visibility, when the pilot needs a bright signal to follow. The triangular day wands have no light and are made for bright daylight, where a big high visibility shape reads better than a glow that washes out in the sun. A lot of crews keep both so they are covered around the clock.

What is a flare wand, and how is it different from a regular marshalling wand?

A flare wand is a marshalling wand that does more than glow steady. Alongside the standard signal light it adds flashing and flare modes, so the same tool marshals an aircraft, warns of a hazard, or works as an emergency beacon when a crew needs to flag something fast. It is the multi use pick for people who would rather carry one wand than a wand and a separate flare. If all you ever do is marshal aircraft, a plain lighted wand is plenty, but the flare wand covers more situations.

What are PowerFlares, and what are they used for?

PowerFlares are rugged LED beacons that do the job of an old burning road flare without the fire, the smoke, or the burn out. They are tough enough to drive over, run on a rechargeable or replaceable battery, and throw a bright flashing light that marks a hazard, an incident, or a closed lane on the ramp or the road. You can set one on the ground, use the magnet to stick it to metal, or drop it on top of a cone with the cone adapter. Crews buy them in packs and bucket bundles so a whole scene lights up in seconds.

Can I buy these in bulk for a whole crew?

Yes, and it is the norm here. The marshalling wands come in packs up to 100, the flare wands up to 80, and the PowerFlares in 4 and 8 packs plus 24 and 36 unit bucket bundles that store and haul the whole set. Buying the bigger packs drops the price per unit, which matters when you are handing gear to a full ground crew. Since all of it is built to take weather and rough handling, a bulk order should hold up for a good while.

What aviation and ramp safety gear is available?

Ground support and ramp safety gear for airports, FBOs, airlines and hangars: aircraft chocks, marshalling and light wands, PowerFlares, airport barricades, wing tip cones and ramp delineators, FOD and hangar supplies, and hydration for crews working long shifts in the heat.

Can aviation gear be customized or bought in bulk?

Many aviation products come in bulk packs and pallets, and several, like aircraft chocks and marshalling wands, can carry an FBO or airline logo. Check each product page for the pack sizes and custom options it offers.

Mini Aviation Triangular Day Wand 8" Bundle, 20 Pack - DW8-T-10

The 8" Mini Aviation Triangular Day Wands are a compact alternative for users who prefer a shorter version of standard aviation day wands.

Designed for daytime signaling, the bright orange color helps improve visibility while the triangular shape helps prevent the wands from rolling off vehicle hoods, carts, equipment, and other surfaces. The shorter 8" size offers easier handling, carrying, and storage while maintaining a practical design for aviation ground crews and other signaling applications.

These non-lighted day wands are suitable for airport ramp operations, FBOs, traffic control, parking operations, events, and other environments where a shorter signaling wand is preferred.

Features:
- Shorter 8" alternative to standard aviation day wands
- High-visibility bright orange
- Triangular anti-roll design
- UV-resistant construction
- Lightweight and easy to handle
- Compact size for convenient carrying and storage
- Non-lighted design for daytime use
- Ideal for aviation ground crews, ramp operations, traffic control, parking, and events
