What is a water filled jersey barrier?

It is a hollow plastic barrier in the classic jersey shape, wide at the bottom with sloped sides, that you fill with water on site. Empty, it is light enough to move into place, and full, it is heavy enough to hold a line. Crews use them to channel traffic and pedestrians in work zones, close streets and fence off construction sites, then drain them for the move to the next job.

Which water filled barrier should I choose?

Start with what the job calls for. The TrafFix Water-Wall is a temporary crash barrier system for road and highway work zones and connects to the SLED end treatment. The Yodock 2001MB is a channelizing device for traffic, pedestrians, street closures and site perimeters, linked end to end with a plastic coupler. The Hydrocade is a lightweight, stackable barrier that links with connector pins, and the Plasticade water filled barricade rotates 90 degrees for easy layout. If your spec requires crash protection, confirm it before ordering.

Can I add a fence on top?

Yes, on several systems. The Yodock 2001MB takes a 60 x 72 inch fence panel kit, which uses two grommets per panel. The TrafFix Water-Wall has a galvanized steel mesh fence that retrofits to the barrier, and the Hydrocade fence panel and post kit replaces the connector pins to turn the line into a rigid fence. A fence on top keeps people from climbing over or walking through a work area.

Are parts sold separately?

Yes. The Plasticade and Hydrocade barricades include a connector pin. Add on and replacement parts sell on their own, including the Yodock coupler connector, fence panel grommets, and the Yodock plug wrench for the fill and drain plugs. Match each part to your barrier's brand and model, since parts from one system do not fit another.

What barricades and barriers are available?

Equipment for closing off and channeling space: Type I, II and III construction barricades, water filled jersey barriers, interlocking plastic and steel crowd control barricades, barrier fence and expandable gates, caution and danger tape, vertical panels, and the lights, feet, pins and other parts that keep them in service.

How do I choose between barrier types?

Start with what the barrier has to do. Tape and mesh fence mark an area people should avoid, interlocking crowd control barricades guide and hold back foot traffic, construction barricades mark work zones and road closures, and water filled barriers add weight for channeling traffic and securing a site.

Hydrocade Water Filled Barricade System w/Connector Pin - HYD-VAR

The Innovative Hydrocade Barrier is the next generation in portable safety barriers, engineered to deliver maximum performance in a lightweight, easy-to-deploy, and stackable design. Made from ultra-durable, UV-resistant plastic, this water-fillable barricade naturally contracts and expands with changing temperatures, so it resists freezing and cracking even in extreme weather. It is lightweight at 67lbs when empty and rock-solid at 745 lbs when filled with up to 81 gallons of water. Built to stack, store, and deploy fast, its unique design form means these barricades take up less space on pallets and trucks, thus reducing freight costs. Choose from high-visibility Orange or solid White and upgrade with reflective sheeting for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. Whether you're managing pedestrians, vehicle traffic, or protecting workers on-site, the Hydrocade barricade offers safety and strength.

Hydrocade is the ultimate solution for construction crews, event organizers, and safety teams who need power and portability in one.
